Public Notice regarding extension for applying and submission of fee payment for the post of Warder and Matron (Advt No. 08 of 2024)
1.0 The age limit specified in Para No. 6 of the previously issued Advertisement No. 08 of 2024 should be revised as follows:
Age Limit: According to the instructions of the Punjab Government and the letter dated 11.03.2024 from the Additional Director General of Police (Prisons), Punjab, Chandigarh, and as per the service rules of the Punjab Government, the age limits for candidates as of 01.01.2024 should be as follows:
For the post of Warder:
- General: From 18 years to 27 years.
- Government employees of Punjab and Central Government: The upper age limit of the candidate should not exceed 45 years.
- Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab State: The upper age limit for residents of Punjab belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes will be 32 years.
- Pensioned Soldiers of Armed Forces: The upper age limit of the candidate should not exceed 40 years.
- Men who have resigned from the Armed Forces after at least 03 years of service: The upper age limit of the candidate should not exceed 30 years.
- Men who have spent 05 years or more in the Police Force: The upper age limit of the candidate should not exceed 30 years.
- Army Reserve Men: The upper age limit of the candidate should not exceed 35 years.
For the post of Matron:
- General: From 18 years to 27 years.
- Government employees of Punjab and Central Government: The upper age limit of the candidate should not exceed 45 years.
- Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab State: The upper age limit for residents of Punjab belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes will be 32 years.
- Ex-servicewomen: The upper age limit for resident ex-servicemen of Punjab will be determined according to the Punjab Recruitment of Ex-Servicemen Rules, 1982, as amended from time to time. This upper age limit will be the remaining age after deducting the period of service they served in the armed forces from their current age, provided that the remaining age does not exceed 3 years beyond the upper age limit for the post as per service rules.
- i) Widows. ii) Women who have legally separated from their husbands or have been divorced; iii) Women whose husbands have been ordered by Civil or Criminal Courts to pay maintenance to them; iv) Women who have been living separately from their husbands for more than two years due to desertion: The upper age limit of the candidate should not exceed 35 years.
Note: Candidates who are employees of the State and Central Government and are seeking age relaxation must obtain an NOC from their department and present it at the time of counseling.
2.0 In Advertisement No. 08 of 2024, the online portal for submitting applications on the Board's website will be open as follows:
- Start date for applying online: 01.09.2024
- Last date for applying online: 03.09.2024
- Last date for fee submission: 05.09.2024
