The Simon Commission, officially known as the Indian Statutory Commission, was a group of seven British members of Parliament that was formed in 1927 to review the constitutional progress in British India. The commission, led by Sir John Simon, did not include any Indian members, which led to widespread protests and the slogan "Simon Go Back" across the country as Indians viewed it as an insult to their aspirations for self-rule.
