The First Anglo-Sikh War began with the Battle of Mudki, fought near Ferozpur on 18th December 1845.
Giri
Guru Gobind Singh Ji fought his first battle, known as the Battle of Bhangani, on the banks of the Giri River in 1688.
Bhagat Singh
Bhagat Singh, along with Rajguru and Sukhdev, killed British police officer John Saunders on 17th December 1928 in Lahore. This act was carried out to avenge the death of Lala Lajpat Rai, who succumbed to injuries inflicted during a protest against the Simon Commission.
Sir Cyril Radcliffe
Sir Cyril Radcliffe was appointed as the Chairman of the Boundary Commission in 1947 to demarcate the boundaries for the partition of Bengal and Punjab between India and Pakistan.
